But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (Luke 6:35 NIV) Love your enemies. What was Jesus thinking? He expects me to love the very persons who do not mean me any good. Not an unpassionate like but a passionate love. Impossible you may say but He modeled it perfectly for us when He went to the cross for my sins and for your sins. He went knowing that some of us would reject Him totally while others of us would reject Him some of the times. Yet He went. That is unconditional love. And so He calls us to love unconditionally: "love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back".
Child of God, are you prepared to love unconditionally?
We will never do it if we rely on our own strength but Jesus sent us the Holy Spirit who will enable us to love even our enemies - expecting nothing in return. How easy is it for you to love unconditionally? Respond in comments below.
