So our lives have changed. Our freedom to movement has been curtailed. This curtailment is accompanied by anxiety and a number of other psychosomatic illnesses in some persons. Others are succumbing to the overwhelm of information or misinformation concerning COVID-19. Whatever the stressor if you are experiencing overwhelm you need to act now to reduce your stress.
The first step is to determine those things you can control and those you can’t. Focus o those things you can control. Ask yourself what can you do to lessen or eliminate your interface with these stressors, e.g. you may turn off your television for most of the day to prevent an overload of information. For those stressors that you cannot control there is one individual who can. Jesus can so give Him those things you cannot control. He will help you to deal with them in such a way that you will have peace. This peace can only come from God. Philippians 4:6-7 states: 6. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. We can guard our minds from worry by thinking of these things stated by Paul in Philippians 4:8; whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
