Confused,
Fearful, Not sure what lies ahead. No peace within. Joy a distant memory. Broken by life’s living. Tormented by the past; Awash with guilt and the consequences of inept decisions. My failures constantly LOUD and in my face. I was doomed But In the stillness of the night; A still small voice from within: “I love you! You are so much more than these that occupy your thoughts” Me with my dark unbearable past? NOT POSSIBLE! And so my mind wrestled with this still small voice. This voice was relentless in its pursuit. It erased the negative thoughts that had ensnared me. It lifted me from the pit I had made my home I can sing Psalms of praise. Joy and peace are my best friends. My feet are strengthened in my thanksgiving dance. Life and life more abundantly enfolds me. Love reached down to the lowest ebb of my life and lifted me to soar with eagles. Jesus’ compassion reaches beyond our faults, Rescues us from certain death And places us on a path to life everlasting. Jesus also known as Love rescued me. He wants to rescue you too. Give his still small voice a chance to speak with you. VeeSutherland, 2019 What’s your first reaction to the poem? Tell us in comments below.
