God loves when His children, who are made in His image and for whom Jesus died on the cross, seek to spend time talking with Him daily. He says in Isaiah 65:24 (NKJV): “It shall come to pass that before they call, I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.” And in Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) He says: “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”
Why does He want to talk with you? He likes companionship and wants your companionship but He will not force himself on to you. Our relationship with God is a mutual one. A family in which the children and parents are communicating well with each other has a strong bond. Children are provided for, there is joy, peace and plenty of love to go around. Likewise when we strengthen the bonds of communication with our Heavenly father and Sibling, we have our needs met, we experience pure joy and peace and a matchless love.
Hurrying through life finding no time to relax and have a conversation with our Maker will leave a void in your life that nothing can fill until you allow Him in. God deserves some quality time with you. Schedule some God-time on your calendar each day and keep that appointment with God. Do not use this time to give God a shopping list of needs, use it to get to know Him. Talk to God as you would to a friend exchanging ideas about His cares, your cares, what is happening in the world, your friends, your joys, your sorrows, gratitude, your leaders. He is waiting ready to listen and to reply.
Go ahead and schedule that time now.
